As many of you know, Piedmont Park officials will often put up a large red flag on the flagpole by our field if it has rained recently. When the red flag is up, "organized sports", including ultimate, is forbidden, on the theory that we're going to tear up the grass. You can try to start a game, but eventually the Piedmont Park work crew will come around in a golf cart and break up the game.
That said, it rained pretty hard yesterday, and I suspect the red flag is up. If anyone can check on the status of the flag today in advance of the regular Monday pickup game, please post it here. I'm sure I'm not the only person who would appreciate knowing whether or not we will be allowed to get a game in tonight. Thanks, Nick Edited by Nick on May 19, 2008 1:55 PM |

Sorry for the late response, but the red flag, which was tiny was up.. the lawn was super dry though, and they didn't stop the game from playing..

That's good to hear. It seems to me that park security has been a bit more chill recently, which is definitely a good thing.
I try to check the park on Saturday mornings, but I agree with Nick, if someone drives past Piedmont Park on Mondays and can give us a shout on red flag days, that would be awesome. |
